Melissa Morton Garden & Landscape Design is an award winning, professional garden design studio.  We serve homeowners, architects and developers looking to elevate the connection between the home and the outdoors in Ilkley, Skipton, Harrogate and the surrounding area in the Yorkshire Dales.

We have extensive experience in designing gardens alongside house remodelling projects. If you’re planning an extension and working with an architect, we ensure the garden is considered from the outset – creating a seamless connection between your home and the outdoor space.
 
Gardens enhance our relationship with nature and provide a real boost to our well being.  Our designs use planting creatively to soften and complement the hard landscaping, weaving in colour, structure and texture, all year round.

Our story

Melissa Morton draws on a developed process and a technical background to create elegant gardens that work beautifully. Melissa’s horticultural knowledge, understanding of colour applications and an awareness of landscape character with site context are embedded in what we do. 

Whatever the level of maintenance desired, creative planting is a core part of our designs.  Plants can be used to define the spatial design of a space as well as making a positive contribution to biodiversity and the environment.  It can also help to deal with drainage too. Above all, the presence of planting really makes a garden.

Melissa Morton is a registered member of the Society of Garden & Landscape Designers and a registered designer of the Association of Professional Landscapers.

DESIGN insights
Melissa immediately understood what we wanted to achieve with the space, so the design journey was relatively simple and successfully fulfilled our wishes for utilising the area. Our project was large and therefore a significant investment for us. However having witnessed the ground work required we can see how costs can accrue. The renovations will greatly improve our lifestyle for years to come and have undoubtedly added value to our property, both monetary and aesthetically.
