Designing elegant gardens that work beautifully.
Our story
Melissa Morton began her career in garden design back in 2012, having completed a year studying Landscape Architecture at Leeds Beckett University. Previous to this, Melissa spent two years studying the Royal Horticultural Society Diploma in Horticulture alongside a 10 year career as a teaching fellow in colour science at Leeds University.
This background has given Melissa a unique and varied background. By applying her horticultural knowledge, understanding of colour applications and, above all, an awareness of landscape character and the site context, Melissa Morton Garden Design draws on our creative process and technical expertise to deliver elegant gardens that work beautifully.
“I spent my early career within an academic environment in the sciences. However I often yearned to be outdoors working in my garden, with nature. I love learning too.
I now share my knowledge of each garden and planting with my clients. This really helps them to engage with, and enjoy, their outdoor space which in turn maintains the design vision and the garden’s future.”
Working from a small design studio in the beautiful spa town of Ilkley, West Yorkshire, Melissa Morton Garden Design would love to hear from you if you are looking for a tailored, unique design and / or innovative planting solutions. Areas served Ilkley, Bingley, Skipton & Harrogate and surrounding areas.
