Garden design | Eastburn, nr. Skipton
Gloria and John are a retired couple who wanted to invest in their new home. Looking to create their dream garden, to relax and enjoy, they were looking for an undercover area to sit, and a new verandah will give them the sheltered space they need.
Our clients wanted to use the designs to work with their own local contractor to build the garden.
A garden design for a new build property in Eastburn, near Skipton. The design for this project started during the Covid-19 lockdown. This was a blank canvas, quite literally – turf and a few paving flags – so typical of new built homes.
A waterfeature centred on a vista from the sitting room.
A verandah next to kitchen door.
A new access route into the garden.
An attractive lawn profile with borders to enjoy walking round the garden.
John has limited mobility, so steps were kept to an absolute minimum. There is one step in the design, which is at the back door. The rest of the garden is flat and easy to move around.
A verandah was included to provide shelter from the elements and still enjoy sitting outside.
The water feature and birdbath are easily visible from the new seating area.
A waterfeature (waterbowl) is included to provide a focal point when viewed from inside the home, all year, and when sitting out under the verandah.
Structural planting included trees for privacy, screening and framing views. Evergreens located for year round structure.
