A LARGE FAMILY GARDEN FOR RELAXING. AND A KITCHEN GARDEN TOO.

Garden design | Menston, Yorkshire

The Brief

Our clients with teenage children commissioned a design for a relaxing, productive family garden. There were various priorities including a special place for relaxing and entertaining as well as a dedicated space for growing vegetables and fruit.  A fresh contemporary look was wanted for a hitherto underdeveloped space.

The clients wanted to oversee the build of the project themselves with TEL Landscapes.

The site

This west facing garden is large enough to have plenty of sunny areas.  As the garden was very open with little mature planting, there weren’t any intimate enclosed areas that felt relaxing to be in.

Words from the contractor...

“We have known and worked with Melissa Morton Garden Design for many years and their projects are always a joy to deliver.

Frequently there is a substantial drawing package prepared which is very helpful indeed. This is especially true of larger more complex projects.  Knowing how the garden components, levels and materials go together makes life a lot easier for us.  It also contributes to the project running smoothly when products can be sourced and researched priori to them actually being needed on site.

The designs and drawing packages that Melissa Morton Garden Design produce often include supporting ‘visuals’ which are also beneficial when communicating the design essence and end goal.
