We find the best way to start your garden project is with an initial face to face consultation and a site visit with Melissa Morton.
This early collaboration helps to ensure that final designs align with your goals and expectations. Ultimately, the predesign consultation lays the groundwork for the subsequent stages of the design process, providing a solid basis for creating a successful and tailored design solution.
We listen to your what you want, your initial ideas and investment goals. We find out what garden features you’d like to include and how you would like to use the garden. We gain an understanding of what your issues are and what’s not working for you at the moment.
After completing a previsit questionnaire, we meet the homeowner on site and have a brief chat. We then carry out a brief site assessment, taking time to look around the garden.
We offer some immediate tailored ideas and suggestions which may inform the design. If you have any particular issues, we may be able to give on the spot advice during the visit. A follow up report is emailed to you.
Oftentimes, after this service, clients have been able to readjust their priorities and expectations so serves as a very useful feasibility stage. It means that when the garden design process starts, we have a clearer and more focused approach resulting in a design which is better aligned with your personal investment. This can be truly valuable for some clients where rising costs of supply and construction are an essential consideration of the design journey.
This service is chargeable.
After this predesign consultation, a tailored fee proposal can be provided on request.
