The Brief

Our clients are looking for a vision to optimise the space, whilst recognising the heritage feel of the property.
  • They wanted to maximise a spacious feel with an Italianate style vibe.
  • Car parking space for two cars.
  • There are some privacy issues at the back of the property.
  • Designs will allow the garden renovation to be implemented over a few years.

The site

A Victorian town Listed villa in Ripon. There are three huge eucalyptus trees to the rear of the garden which are to be removed. The back garden needs complete restoration as it has been largely neglected over the past 15 years.

Pergola walkway enhancing journey through garden.  Also enhances feeling of width when viewed from patio.

The Design

  • A 2D and 3D visual were produced to communicate the design vision and spatial design of the site.
  • Circulation routes between parking, garage, house and back access enhance the user experience of the garden.
  • New seating area to catch morning sun.
  • Views from house windows were considered to add interest to sight lines all year round.
